Considering having a pet bunny but do not know anything about them, any advice about buying/caring for them?

I have been thinking about getting a bunny. I am fine with taking care of it, but I have heard some things that are making me hesitant. I have heard that bunnies are not really that cuddly, and that a lot of them are actually mean-tempered. I have also heard that they smell very bad, poop everywhere, and chew any wire in sight.

Also, I am aware that I will have to buy a cage but do not know what other supplies I will need.

What kind of veterinary care do I need (such as spaying?) and about how much does it cost?

Bunnies can be cuddly, but they are also very independent.
They will want to run around more then they will want to lay with you, but they most definitely need attention.
When my bunny wants attention, he will come up to me and use his nose to move my hand around until i pet him. He will also fall asleep right next to me.

Bunnies do smell really bad, you will have to clean and scrub the cage weekly to keep the ammonia smell away, if you don’t clean it often, flies will come.
They don’t poop everywhere, but they do poop a lot, but it is not hard to clean up, it doesn’t stick to anything.

I have trained my rabbit to know that when i say “NO” or i clap my hands, he will stop what he is doing and look at me, this keeps him from chewing anything.
To train him just pick up some rabbit treats from the local pet store and practice saying “NO” or clapping your hands with your bunny, this will trick him into thinking he is going to get a treat everytime you say it.

As for supplies, you will need:
-A cage (make sure its large enough for him/her to grow in)
- Bedding
- Rabbit food
-Water-bottle
- Toys, They LOVE to throw things.
- Bunny wash
-Timothy hay.

Vet care- You will need to have your bunny’s nails clipped about every 3 months or they will get to long and fall off which causes them a lot of pain. They will not be able to walk comfortably on their feet if the nails are to long either.
Spaying cost me about $100 dollars.
